Hi all! It has been SO long since I have posted! I have been super busy with the research project at my new post-doctoral job I got in November. I have finally made some time to get back to The Classy Academic!
Today, I’m sharing 3 ways on how I style pastel pants for Spring. I typically wear the Cameron Slim Crop Pant from J. Crew, but when I saw the pretty pastel colors in the Hayden Kickout Crop Pant from J. Crew, I knew I had to grab a pair! I am 5’4, so I was a little worried about how these cropped and flared pants would look on me. Although I am on the short side, my legs are proportionally long for my body and I think I pulled them off quite well. In fact, I loved the fit and length of these so much, I got several more pair! (FYI: I wear a Petite 0 in these pants).
I usually say that your outfit should have some “pop”. Well, the colors in these pants definitely POP! I quickly ordered these and then realized that I have never styled pants with such a bright and bold color. I put together 3 outfits that compliment the mint color that I bought and wanted to share my styling with you! I headed to Pinterest for inspiration to see how others have made mint pants “work”. For such a bright color to work, I think that complimenting bright pastel pants with whites and navys worked quite well! Adding stripes to the outfit certainly “sparked” it a bit. Thankfully, my closet is full of white, navy, and stripes! I also think that pairing it with another pastel top with a denim or white blazer/jacket/cardigan would work well, too. I haven’t tried it with florals yet, but I think it could work as long as it’s not too loud–but we will see and I will get back to you on that! Check out my outfits below!
Outfit #1: Pastel Pants, Striped Tee, Neck Scarf, & Sneakers
For outfit #1, I paired the pastel mint pants with a navy and white striped tee, a neck scarf, and sneakers. I think this is a great casual look! You can shop the scarf from one of my favorite small businesses Modern Prep here.
Outfit #2: Pastel Pants, Denim Jacket, Headband, Tee, & Sneakers
For outfit #2, I added a denim jacket over my tee (you can wear any tee!) and threw on a headband. Just one simple addition changed the look and feel for the outfit!
Outfit #3: Pastel Pants, Sweater Blazer, Button-Up, Flats
For outfit #3, I paired my mint pants with a striped navy sweater blazer. The Sophie sweater blazer from J. Crew is my absolute favorite and can dress up and outfit while retaining comfort! I love this look and it’s such a great Spring or Summer outfit for the office!
I will be sure to add any other ways to style these super cute pastel pants when I can! I would love to see how you have styled pastel pants this Spring!
Cheers!
